Day 43

Monday May 10, 2010. It was kinda slow today. Haley and I went to town and I went to the bank to transfer money. Now this is interesting. To transfer money to our Honduran checking account you first have to call Nancy in the states and ask her if we have any. She usually says yes. Then you write a check on the American bank and make it out to me. I go to the one window and the lady takes the check and gives me a slip of paper. I then go to another window and they deposit the amount. Then I can write a check or cash one. Well today I went in after lunch and it was not too busy. The lady processed the American check and told me to go to another location that I had not been to before. I go and stand in line for a few seconds and the security guard motions for me to get in another line. I get up to the window and give the girl whom I had not dealt with before the paperwork. She ask me several questions in Spanish and I do not know what she is saying. Finally she takes the paperwork away and returns with a large stack of Honduran money. Now I am not too smart but I know something is amiss about what is going on but I just wait and see what is going to happen. She counts the money a couple times and then tries to hand it to me. Now I do not want 41,000 Limpera cash so I tell her to deposit it. She looks at me and smiles and then takes the money back and puts it in her cash boxes and then give me a deposit slip. Then I hand her a check to cash. She does that with no problem. Just another great day in Honduras without knowing the language. Just enough to get into trouble. Well I leave the band with everything in order I hope. I meet Haley at the internet store and we go grocery shopping. Then we go to the video store and then I try to get to the place where we bet hog scraps but it is too busy for me to stop anywhere near. Those bags get really heavy when they are full of food scraps. We head home and get their safely. Another day of adventure gone by. God is too good to me.
